WELCOME TO THE 1st EDITION OF THE DCC STAFF SPOTLIGHT! 

New this year, we will be asking a member of the DCC teaching family to step into the staff spotlight!  Our inaugural spotlight is shining bright on one of our newest staff members, Emily Schauss!

Ms. Schauss is a Workplace Readiness Skills (WRS) teacher and her worksite is the Mclean Bible Church.  Thank you for joining our school this year and sharing more about yourself, Ms. Schauss; DCC is very lucky to have you!

SPOTLIGHT QUESTIONS

How many years have you worked at DCC?

This is my very first year!

How long have you worked for FCPS?

4 years

What is your favorite part of working at DCC?

I’m loving being able to really help my students grow into being their own person; this is so important as they will soon become young adults in the work force!

What was your first job?

My first job was being a lifeguard and swim instructor! I loved being able to teach something that kids/people could use for the rest of their lives.

If you weren't a teacher, what would be your dream job?

If I wasn't a teacher, I would like to be a Marine Biologist and help take care of animals in the sea!

Favorite thing to do when you aren't working?

I love going on hikes and exploring new places with my dog, Hercules! When I am not on the move I love to cook and experiment with new dishes.
